Makers of Aakash tablet, i.e. DataWind have now opened up the tablet for retail buying. The retail price of Aakash tablet is Rs. 2,500 and UbiSlate7, the upgraded version of Akash costs Rs. 2,999.
In terms of features, UbiSlate is an advanced version – the device runs on Android 2.3 (Akash is on 2.2) and offers features like WiFi & GPRS (SIM & Phone functionality).
Right now, only CoD (Cash on Delivery) is available for online purchase (of Aakash tablet), though UbiSlate 7 is not yet launched.
