Magic Jack plus : make long calls at affordable rates..

Magic Jack Gets Upgrades Now Called The MAGIC JACK PLUS

More and more people are dropping their home phone service provider, and switching to much more affordable phone services provided through VoIP networks. These VoIP networks use your high speed internet connection for making and receiving phone calls. One of these services is provided by a small device called the magic Jack Plus, the latest edition of the highly touted magic Jack.

What’s the difference between the magic Jack Plus and the magic Jack?

The first, and most relevant difference between the two devices is the magicJack Plus’s ability to function without a computer, thanks to its built in CPU and RAM. The previous edition of the magic Jack required it to be plugged into the USB port on a computer, and for that computer to be powered on. This was a major inconvenience as expressed by many users of the first device but it has been addressed here with the magic Jack Plus
Another complaint some users of the magic Jack had was that the call quality was less than ideal. Users sometimes complained of static, and echoes when on calls. The magic Jack Plus now includes Wide Band Voice Technology, also called HD Voice, which doubles the device’s codecs from 8 kHz to 16 kHz, substationally increasing the quality of the sound, while also reducing static. Echo Control technology is also new to the magic Jack Plus; this technology helps to eliminate echoes while talking. These two updates have helped magic Jack to deliver a call quality is now on par with that of landline phones.

How much does the magic Jack Plus cost?

The magic Jack Plus costs only $69.95. This initial purchase covers the magic Jack Plus device, its AC adapter power supply, an Ethernet cable, and a USB cable. This price also covers the first year of service. Upon the initial purchase, though, you can buy five years of service, at a discounted rate of only $99.95 which is $50 off the price for five years if you were to renew on a year-to-year basis. You service includes the ability to make unlimited local and long distance calls anywhere in the United States, or Canada.

Can I make international calls with the magic Jack Plus?

Yes. You can call your friends in family outside of the U.S. and Canada, for an additional rate (per minute) that varies depending on which country you are calling.

Does the magic Jack Plus include any features I get from my current phone company?

Yes. The magic Jack Plus provides many of the same features you get from your current phone company. The device will give you call waiting, three-way calling, call forwarding, and voicemail, Caller ID, and a lot more. The phone company, though, does not provide the convenience of taking these features with you wherever you go, like the magic Jack Plus does.
